You know that feeling when you get to sip that first cocktail at happy hour on Friday after a crazy week at work? Yeah, we know, it’s amazing – you earned it. You’re finally able to relax and gossip with friends and enjoy the fact that you have all weekend to do whatever you want. well, we found a way to make Friday happy hour even more well-deserved!
Last Friday, we went to the strength happy hour class at Uplift Studios – a girl’s only gym. We know this sounds aggressive for a Friday night, but hear us out! We were so exhausted after the work week, we weren’t sure that we would even make it through the class, but when we walked into the cute flatiron studio with lime green walls, tons of light, and a view of the city – not to mention the promise of wine following the class with your new workout friends right there in the studio – we were feeling much more optimistic about our workout!
Brittney Spear’s “Stronger” began playing over the loud speaker, and that was our cue to set up our mat and grab our weights. The 55 minute class touched on everything from burpees and squats, crunches and planks and plenty of arm work. The great thing is, at the end of the class, we actually felt like we deserved that glass of wine provided by uplift studios. plus, we burned off a ton of stress from the week.
