New York City is full of busy ladies… outsiders may be wondering how we find time to work a full-time job, cultivate that side hustle, get together with girlfriends for happy hour drinks and still fit in that workout. Well, we’re here to tell you that making an efficient transition from your workout to the office is key for an action-packed schedule.
Here’s how to do that:
Pack the Night Before
Make sure you have everything you need before you head out the door! It’s super frustrating when you realize you forgot your strappy sandal and your only option is to rock hot pink running shoes and floral romper. Make a checklist and pack the night before.
Plan your Shower Time
Be realistic about your shower-time and plan your workout timing accordingly. Do your after-work plans require a full blow dry and styling or can you skip the wash and go for a cute “updo” instead.
Fake the Shower
Yea, we said it. Sometimes your workout was more a stretch session than a sweat sesh and you just don’t need a shower. Keep a few freshening products like dry shampoo, deodorant wipes, blotting strips and rollerball perfume in your gym bag or makeup bag. You could even snag one of these cute fitness kits and you’re ready.
Strategic Hair Styling
Find a signature gym to work hairstyle that is both office appropriate and works better with dirty hair and a little dry shampoo. Note that unless you are an experienced hair stylist, we recommend sticking to a signature look or practicing the new one ahead of time. See if one of these looks speak to you!
Remember, you woke up early to work out for a reason! Wheather it was to clear your head, get a little closer to your fitness goals or cancel out those after-work drinks – you’re there so make the most of it!
