A male friend (let’s call him Matt) texted another male friend (let’s call him Daniel). Apparently, it was an old number, and without Matt knowing, it had been given to another person, namely a 12 year old girl.
Matt texted the number jokingly thinking he was reaching Daniel, “Hey sexy, thank you for last night.” He knew that Daniel had been out the night before without his girlfriend, and was currently with his girlfriend and wanted to give him a hard time by making her think he hadn’t been on his best behavior.
The reply said, “Sorry I think you’ve got the wrong number.”
Thinking that Daniel had been proactive in rectifying the situation with his girlfriend he texted, “Come on big boy, it’s me. You were amazing.”
The reply said, “You have the wrong number. This is a 12 year old girl.”
He then sent a picture of himself with his shirt undone, creepily looking into the camera and wrote, “Yummy.”
He immediately got a call.
It was a mother, and she shouted at him asking him what is wrong with him. Subsequently he got agitated and confused and shouted back.
The next call he received was from the police, asking him why he had sent a seductive picture of himself and promiscuous messages to a child after being told she was only 12.
Although he managed to talk himself out of that one, and the police had a long laugh at him, it’s a good lesson that you never really know who you’re reaching on the other end of a sext!
