If you thought all spin studios were created equal, think again. We rounded up all (or most) of the spin studios in NYC, so you can decide for yourself which one is the best for you!
Great for: Current and former athletes of all levels
Ironman athletes and fitness newbies alike flock to SWERVE for a heart-pumping workout. SWERVE taps into the team psychology to keep you motivated through HIIT style classes that are challenging (and fun!) for all levels. If you ever played a sport in high school or college, or if you rep your company’s flag football team on the weekends, SWERVE is for you. We’ll high five to that.
Great for: Thrill seekers and travel aficionados
IMAXShift is an immersive indoor cycling studio powered by The IMAXExperience®, where riders can pedal through the solar system, over the coasts of Hawaii, through the streets of Japan, or virtually next to Beyoncé as the instruction and visuals combine in a seamless workout experience. Talk about never getting bored!
Great for: Competitors
If you thrive off of some healthy competition, Flywheel is the studio for you. Flywheel’s TorqBoard measures your performance against your fellow riders, and the rankings are projected on a screen during class, so you can keep track. Whether you’re racing against the person next to you, or against yourself, you’re bound to get a killer workout AND you are less likely to cheat during class.
Great For: People who have injuries or are prone to injuries
Aqua Studio classes take place in – you guessed it – the pool! Riding in water is easy on your joints, so if you are prone to injury, this low-impact option is great for you.
The Monster Cycle
Great for: Adrenaline junkies
Feelin’ rebellious? Book a bike at Monster Cycle and rock out with fellow fearless riders to kick-ass music videos. Did we mention, it’s dark? Like really dark. Time to get in the zone.
Great for: Technology lovers
Thanks to Peloton‘s advanced live screening technology, you don’t even have to leave your apartment to workout (IF you can drop some major dolla billz on a bike). Otherwise, you can book a class in the NYC Peloton studio.
Best for: Booty shakers
Cyc classes are known to get you dancing! Cyc boasts beat-based rides that activate your entire body. And did we mention their branded merch is super cute?
Best for: Spin newbies
Crunch‘s “Ride” class is highly entertaining and a great workout sans intimidation. You don’t have to worry about clipping your shoes into the bike or competing with your neighbors – just get your sweat on! Crunch is a great option for people looking to dip their toe into spinning while wanting to keep their workout options open.
Best for: People looking for a challenge
Revolve doesn’t mess around. All of their instructors are Schwinn certified and extensively trained in the “Revolve Method”, so you can be sure you’ll get a challenging workout when you book one of their bikes.
