Manhattan is sometimes referred to as the concrete jungle – and that’s a pretty good description. For miles of city life all we see is skyscrapers and paved roads, it’s easy to forget about that thing called nature. But the concrete jungle is, after all, an island encompassed by the East River and the Hudson river to the west. Throughout the summer, New York city really pumps up the volume on fun and active outdoor activities like free kayaking at piers around the city.
We decided to brave the waves at Pier 26 in Tribeca since we had a feeling there would be a picturesque city view from the water! Or maybe we just didn’t want to go too far from the city…..regardless – the view was awesome! We brushed off the risk of capsizing and stuffed a camera under our shirts to snap a few photos.
