During our “concoction class” we learned how to make a beautiful blackberry basil bourbon smash complete with fresh muddled berries, which we highly recommend (if you don’t normally go for bourbon, this drink will make you change your tune!). Matt Levine‘s handy liquor bar, with a throwback NYC musical vibe, is a cool, prohibition-like spot tucked away on Broome street between Thompson and Sullivan. Enter through chalk point kitchen and take the staircase (lined with 1970s New York City “rock scene” authentic photos) down to the lounge.
In addition to hosting live Jazz, Motown, Disco and Rock & Roll from 10pm on, one of our favorite things about this hidden treasure is the variety of group games available – grab some friends for a few rounds of Cards Against Humanity or Jenga while you sip a Dizzy Julep!
