We’ve always been the entertaining type…. there is nothing better than planning a party! Our Facebook page is full of albums chronicling the parties we’ve thrown as a company since we launched a year ago. The truth is, it all started as southern sorority girls. That’s where we really learned the art of hosting. From themed date nights, formals and football tailgate parties – we were always planning something.
The art of the party took a little adapting as we settled into our lives as New York City dwellers. For instance, having 35 people over for happy hour in your 500 sq ft 4th floor walk-up is a bit tricky. So, we now keep our at-home entertaining to an intimate group, but we do not skimp on the decor! Finding the time to throw a get together or dinner party during the holiday season can be extremely overwhelming – especially when every aspect needs to be Instagrammable. Our biggest tip for staying on track while planning holiday event? Determine a theme, and curate the perfect look around that theme. That way, you know exactly what will look good together, and what will look out of place.
This holiday season, we decided to host a charming Southern evening for some of our OOONY Network babes. Of course, when looking at southern chic decor, we headed straight for Kellie Pickler’s home goods line in collaboration with The Grand Ole Opry. The line is called Selma Drye, named after Kellie’s great grandmother who was the inspiration for the line – how cute is that??!!
The line turns a house (or apartment!) into a home by combining southern sensibility and style to bring practicality and warmth into your home – a perfect choice for a two southern besties making NYC home. The collection includes antique silver tea sets and cake plates, candelabras, decorative wreaths, ornaments and more. Our favorite item? A beautiful snow globe that plays “White Christmas” sung by Kellie herself – such a sweet touch!
If you’re looking to throw a chic and festive holiday party, the Selma Drye Holiday 2016 Collection is available now exclusively at opry.com and in three brick and mortar locations in Nashville, TN.
