Why did we suddenly think about WALKING 150 blocks to Harlem in the dead of summer to check out some COOL spots you may ask???
Our buddies over at Spoiled NYC keep talking about this new app called DIDiT NY, and it’s the very thing all of us cocktail sippin’, Soul Cyclin’, gallery hoppin’ NYC millennials have been looking for! You know all those notes you have stored in your iphone with huge lists of brunch spots, rooftop bars, new fitness studios and so on? Basically DIDiT virtualizes and organizes all of those notes for you! You can also grab all of the super compelling lists from Guest Of a Guest, Spoiled NYC, Refinery29, Pure Wow, etc. and save them in the app, so you aren’t stuck with a really long, awkward Google search like “where to get brunch in West Village with Instagrammable food and a cute outdoor seating area” – don’t lie, you’ve been there.
Seriously though, there is nothing better than crossing something off your NYC list because, well, you DIDiT, and it’s really like a badge of honor to say “I’ve been there” or “I’ve done that” for all the hot spots around town.
Last week when we were watching the New Yorker series on Amazon, we discovered Charles’ Country Pan Fried Chicken – a serious soul food spot up on 151st street in Harlem. As original southerners hailing from the ATL, we are both ALL about some good ole’ fried chicken, collard greens and cornbread (amirite?). That’s when we opened up DIDiT, which is MUCH easier than trying to REMEMBER all these places. Of course once we added one thing to the app we were sucked in again, and ended up curating a whole DAY in Harlem. Sooooo be sure to follow our “A Day in Harlem” list on DIDiT – we give you the inside scoop on what you need to do as a tourist in your own city – and you can add places from our list directly to yours! SPOILER ALERT: Red Rooster and Apollo Theater are DEF involved…
Don’t just read our list and think “I should do that,” go add the events straight to your DIDiT list, and get going! We’ll totally go with you haha.
