One of our favorite things about February (besides Fashion Week) is LEAVING NYC and heading to Miami. We started this tradition last year when we were going stir crazy in our tiny apartment and hadn’t seen sunlight in weeks. We were low on vitamin D and sunny south Florida was just what the doctor ordered. Since we recently returned from Miami trip numero two, we decided to curate a guide for you guys that outlines some of our suggestions on what to do with 72 hours in the 3-0-5. Leave us a note in the comments section with your Miami tips!

DINNER ON ESPANOLA WAY
Our Suggestion: Mare Mio
Espanola Way is a quaint little street in South Beach modeled after Mediterranean villages in Spain and France. The bustling street is lined with restaurants and plenty of bars serving up mojitos, but we recommend Chef Claudio Giordano’s Mare Mio situated at the very end of the row. We started off with oysters from four different regions – Claudio suggested we taste from lightest to densest. Surprisingly, one of our favorite menu items was the truffle ravioli – with four types of mushrooms and a decedent drizzle of truffle oil – you can’t go wrong.
One of Claudio’s signature fish dishes is the sea bass packed in salt and baked to perfection. He actually brought an entire block of salt out to the table and cut the fish right in front of us – talk about juicy! If you’re not into this dish – no worries – Claudio has plenty of other fresh options, and is happy to explain each dish in detail.
For dessert, we enjoyed the “deconstructed tiramisu” – you just have to try it to understand!
HIT THE BEACH / POOL
We recommend renting beach chairs outside a swanky beach front hotel such as Fountain Bleu
Our suggestion: Salon Vaso
After a full day in the sun complete with sand and sunscreen, we start to get “beach hair” (not the good kind) and our polish starts to chip after one dip in the chlorine. If you’re dressing to impress on Saturday night, this is not the look you’re going for – we suggest getting completely glammed out at Salon Vaso.
We got “Vaso-fied” – meaning all our services were done at the same time – mani, pedi and blow out – plan on being at the salon for about 1.5 hours. By the time Vaso is done with you, you’ll be ready to hit any South Beach hot spot.
