Mermaids are the new unicorns.
Well, sort of. Move over Unicorn Lattes and hello Mermaid Toast. This is the latest culinary creation that you see all over your Instagram feed. The aqua colored treat was created by food stylist (how cool does that job sound?) Adeline Waugh. Waugh loves to experiment in the kitchen and just have fun, which is no surprise since she is also the brains behind Unicorn toast. Mermaid Toast is fairly simple to make: it is a blend of blue-green algae powders (for the dreamy watercolor hue) mixed with almond-milk cream cheese. Topping off the toast with sprinkles or edible gold flakes will really help you channel your inner Little Mermaid. And if you are a mermaid lover who wants to try different colors for this spread, Waugh also mentions using beet juice or turmeric to create all natural colors for a toast topper. Either way, Mermaid Toast is the key to a truly magical and enchanting morning.
